Role Overview: We are looking for a legal volunteer to support our organization in multiple key areas. The ideal candidate will have expertise in labor and employment law, contracts, and nonprofit law. Your contributions will ensure that our standards and agreements are legally sound and align with best practices.
Key Needs:
Review SEAM Standard: Conduct a thorough legal review of the SEAM Standard, ensuring compliance with relevant labor and employment laws.
Advise on Legal Agreements: Provide legal advice on SEAM’s contracts and agreements, including those with partners, stakeholders, and members.
Nonprofit Law Guidance: Offer guidance on nonprofit legal matters to ensure SEAM operates within the legal framework for nonprofit organizations.
Policy Development: Assist in the development of policies and procedures that align with legal standards and promote social equity.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential legal risks associated with SEAM’s operations and initiatives.
Suggested Qualifications:
Licensed attorney with experience in labor and employment law, contract law, and nonprofit law.
Strong understanding of legal issues related to the built environment and social equity.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Passion for social equity and commitment to SEAM’s mission.

Service Requirements for earning SEAM Memberships:
Individual Member: 10 hours of volunteer service annually
Standing Member: 20 hours of volunteer service annually
Ladder Member: 60 hours of volunteer service annually
Arc Member: 150 hours of volunteer service annually
