About this project

SEAM is piloting a confidential Modern Slavery Assessment for a leading U.S.-based real estate investment manager with an investor that is subject to the Australian Modern Slavery Act of 2018. The project applies relevant SEAM Standard Activities to evaluate how the investment manager identifies, documents, and addresses modern slavery risk within a defined investment vehicle, including its acquisition process and asset-level operations. This work provides practical reporting inputs for the Australian reporting entity while testing how SEAM can verify a focused subset of modern slavery-related requirements. The pilot is informing the creation of the SEAM Ethical Procurement Seal, a limited-scope certification mark that recognizes completion of a defined subset of the full SEAM Certification framework.
